THE PEACE INSTITUTE RESEARCH TEAM:

Živa Humer, Ph.D., sociologist, is a research fellow at the Peace Institute, Institute for Contemporary Social and Political Studies in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her research interests are gender equality policy in Slovenia and the EU, family and social politics, work–life balance issues, men and gender equality. She is presently the national coordinator of the project “Men in Care. Workplace support for caring masculinities” (2019–2022, Progress/EaSI). She has written numerous articles in the fields of care, gender, family life, and gender equality policy. She co-authored two books: New Fatherhood in Slovenia and The Faces of Homophobia and co-edited book Fathers. Short stories about contemporary parenthood. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Council of the Republic of Slovenia for Children and the Family.
